In the coming years, electric mobility will establish itself as the dominant technology in the transport sector – in the city, in rural areas, in long-distance transport, in eCarsharing and even in freight transport. However, it is only by linking electric mobility with the world of renewable energies that we will be able to achieve limitless sustainable mobility that can meet our ecological and economic requirements today and in the future. To achieve this, we must ensure that the increasing number of electric cars is not charged with electricity generated from fossil fuels or nuclear energy.
Green electricity with certificates of origin – independently verified
Mer Germany GmbH is an electricity supplier in Germany and supplies its charging stations with electricity derived from 100% renewable energy sources. We purchase corresponding certificates of origin for the amount of electricity used for this purpose. Mer has this process independently verified by TÜV Süd.
Even if you charge with Mer in the public grid, we ensure sustainable energy by purchasing certificates of origin for electricity from renewable energy sources for the corresponding amount of electricity, so that the amount you charge is mathematically covered by renewable sources – also verified by TÜV Süd.
Knowing where the electricity comes from
At Mer, we want to raise awareness of the fact that electric driving is only truly sustainable and environmentally friendly if there are corresponding certificates of origin. That’s why we charge our company car fleets with electricity from 100% renewable energy sources – verifiable and independently audited.
All electricity suppliers in Germany are required by law to disclose the composition of the electricity they have used to supply end customers. The amount is broken down according to the individual energy sources. This disclosure of the energy mix and the environmental impact of electricity production is known as electricity labeling.
