MUNICH, July 1, 2021 – Statkraft, Europe’s largest renewable Energy generator, today announces the alliance of eeMobility and E-WALD under the European brand Mer. The synergy effects are intended to power the European shift towards a purer way of transportation.
The Norwegian energy company is an international leader in hydropower, Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, and has been active in the market for EV charging solutions for many years out of conviction. In Germany alone, Statkraft operates ten hydropower plants, a solar park, and two biomass power plants. The basis for the Mer Group were targeted acquisitions in various countries in Europe, which after Norway, Sweden and the UK now finally also operate in Germany under the new Mer brand.
Mer Solutions GmbH (formerly eeMobility), as a specialist for 360° charging solutions for fleet customers, will focus on the needs of companies and company car owners and will be responsible for the area of non-public charging within the Mer Group. Mer Germany GmbH (formerly E-WALD) will cover electromobility for private and business customers as a service provider and operator of a public and semi-public charging network as well as electric car sharing.
More renewable energies and more electromobility for Europe
Mer uniquely combines clean energy generation with electromobility and the energy and mobility transition. Innovative products combine the interests of grid operators, electricity suppliers, car manufacturers, charging infrastructure operators, businesses and private individuals. In this way, Mer enables sustainable mobility and the complete switch to renewable energies.
